Priorities
As your Representative for District 28A, my priorities are rooted in Idaho values: empowering local communities, supporting our agricultural heritage, investing in quality education, and ensuring sustainable water resources. With my background raised on a farm, decades in Southeast Idaho, and experience on the Pocatello City Council and Association of Idaho Cities Board, I fight for practical, local solutions that respect taxpayer dollars and promote self-reliance.
Strong Agriculture
Raised on a farm in Kansas, I understand the vital role agriculture plays in Idaho's economy and way of life, and I'm committed to policies that strengthen rural communities and family farms.
I advocate for protecting agricultural lands and resources, supporting investments in public lands that benefit farmers, ranchers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
Reducing government overreach in areas like taxes and regulations helps keep agriculture competitive, including fair tax policies that exempt essential assets and promote economic growth in rural districts like ours in Bannock, Power, and Franklin Counties.
As an avid hunter and outdoorsman, I prioritize sustainable practices that preserve Idaho's natural resources for future generations of farmers and families.
Education
Every Idaho student deserves fair and adequate funding to succeed, regardless of whether they live in a rural or urban area—I'm focused on preparing our kids for real-world success beyond high school.
I support expanding vocational, technical, and career training programs, including certificate and associate degrees, to equip students with practical skills like budgeting, resume writing, and trade work, without relying solely on four-year colleges.
Ending the dependence on local bond levies for school facilities is key; the state should provide consistent funding for buildings, equipment, and maintenance to reduce burdens on property taxpayers.

Water
Water is Idaho's lifeblood, especially for agriculture, communities, and recreation in Southeast Idaho—I prioritize responsible management to secure supplies for farms, families, and future growth.
Supporting investments in public lands and conservation efforts helps maintain clean water sources.
I advocate for local input in water policy to avoid one-size-fits-all state mandates, ensuring equitable distribution and protection against overregulation that could harm rural economies.
Balancing water rights with sustainability is essential; I'll continue working on legislation that promotes efficient use and infrastructure improvements without increasing taxes or government control.
Local Control and Empowering Cities
I believe local issues should be resolved at the local level, without unnecessary state interference that burdens communities with unfunded mandates.
The state must continue to allow cities and counties to represent themselves effectively, drawing on my role with the Association of Idaho Cities to advocate for fair funding formulas and prevent the Legislature from diverting resources to pet projects.
As a member of the House Local Government Committee, I work to reduce regulations on local governments, ensuring they have the autonomy to provide essential services like public safety and infrastructure without excessive state overreach.
Empowering local communities means efficient management of tax dollars—I support fair distribution of revenues so cities can deliver the services residents expect, from fire and police to economic development.
